What the optional statistics count
Daily totals of topic openings, approximate countries and three broad error types. A topic counts at most once per page load. These figures help us improve the learning resources.
We do not store names, email addresses, full IP addresses, visitor IDs, search terms, answers, equation values, precise locations or individual browsing histories in these counters. Country estimates come from the hosting connection and can be wrong, for example when using a VPN. If the host does not provide a country, we record “unknown”.
Only daily totals are saved, with no individual event records. Countries with fewer than five counted visits in a report are grouped as “Other”. Reports are restricted to the site owner. Totals older than 90 days are removed when the counters or report next run.
